Gait Characteristics of Cavus Foot with Laterally Deviated Subtalar Joint Axis Cavus feet have a higher-than-normal medial longitudinal arch and will, as a result, have a talar head and neck which is more dorsiflexed and externally rotated than a normal-arch or flat-arch foot. The externally rotated talar head and neck will cause these cavus feet to have laterally deviated subtalar joint (STJ) axes. As a result of their laterally deviated STJ axes, many of these cavus feet will tend to have abno
