The U.S. Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system has further demonstrated its capabilities in the first Missile Defense Agency (MDA) test against an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM)-class target. This successful intercept marks 14 successful tests out of 14 attempts for the THAAD system. THAAD is currently forward-deployed protecting U.S. and allied forces in Guam and the Republic of Korea.
