Amazon.com Inc.’s first batch of production satellites launched toward low-Earth orbit on Monday, the biggest step to date in the company’s effort to establish a business broadcasting internet connectivity from space.

A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket and a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket should lift off back-to-back from Florida's Space Coast. First, ULA is targeting 7 p.m. to launch the Atlas V — which is outfitted with five solid rocket boosters — and deploy the first production batch of Amazon Project Kuiper broadband satellites into low-Earth orbit.

CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FORCE STATION — After scrubbing its first takeoff attempt due to poor weather, the United Launch Alliance is once again getting ready to send up its Atlas V rocket as it will carry Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellites.
