Protesters turned out at roughly 2,700 rallies around the country to celebrate free speech and protest many of the Trump administration's actions.

Large crowds of protesters marched and rallied in cities across the U.S. Saturday for “ No Kings ” demonstrations decrying what participants see as the government’s swift drift into authoritarianism under President Donald Trump.

Large crowds began gathering on Saturday morning in opposition to how Mr. Trump has been approaching various issues, such as immigration and the government shutdown.

Dozens of "No Kings" rallies are scheduled across western Washington for Saturday, Oct. 18, from Bellingham to Vancouver, to the San Juan Islands.

The demonstrations against the US president - which Republicans had called "hate-America rallies" - were boisterous but peaceful.

Protesters flooded into streets chanting, marching and waving homemade signs. Organizers said nearly 7 million people showed up for the demonstrations across the country.
