Cyclone Dana is set to strike Odisha and West Bengal. The Indian Air Force dispatched NDRF teams, and extensive preparations are underway. Schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed in at-risk districts.

Amid preparedness for Cyclone ‘Dana’, which is expected to reach the coasts adjoining Odisha and West Bengal by4, Five teams of the NDRF's 7th battalion from Punjab's Bhatinda arrived at Bhubaneswar airport with equipment for evacuation and rescue operations in Odisha.

All the schools and colleges will remain closed in West Bengal and Odisha from October 23. The severe cyclonic storm is likely to hit Eastern Coast in the early hours of October 25.

The India Meteorological Department said in its forecast, "…the system is very likely to cross north Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island during the night of October 24 and early morning October 25 as a severe cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 100-110 kmph with gusting 120 kmph.
