California Gov. Gavin Newsom has ordered the parole board to carry out a risk assessment of Lyle and Erik Menendez to determine whether they pose a risk to public safety after spending 35 years in state prison for the 1989 kilings of their parents,

The question for the board is a simple one, do they pose a current ‘unreasonable risk to public safety?”‘ Newsom said.

The probe initiated by the governor signals that Lyle and Erik Menendez, who have been in prison for nearly 35 years for the 1989 murders of their parents, could possibly see their life sentences comm
