The Nashville Predators were haunted by familiar demons Sunday at Bridgestone Arena, as they couldn't surpass the 2-goal mark in a 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars.

Mikko Rantanen scored the tiebreaking goal midway through the third period, and the Dallas Stars rallied to beat the Nashville Predators 3-2.

Rantanen gave the Stars a 3-2 lead at 10:44 of the third period with a wrist shot on the power play thanks to a cross-ice pass from Mavrik Bourque. It is the first power-play goal the Predators have allowed on home ice this season.

The Dallas Stars look to keep their excellent start to division play going when they head to Nashville to take on the Predators Sunday night. It’s the second game of a back-to-back for Dallas following its 3-2 comeback win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.

Ryan O'Reilly had two goals and an assist and scored in the nine-round shootout to help the Nashville Predators to a 5-4 victory against the visiting Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night.

Stars forward Colin Blackwell recorded 10 points (3g-7a) in 33 games with the Predators from 2018-20. Dallas forward Matt Duchene (2019-23) skated for the Preds and put up 141 points (62g-79a) in 178 games played.

Oskar Bäck and Wyatt Johnston also scored for Dallas, which won its second straight after losing four in a row.
