NetherRealm Studios have reportedly cancelled the highly anticipated story expansion and the Kombat Pack 3 for Mortal Kombat 1.

Future Mortal Kombat 1 DLC is in doubt after the game’s latest expansion Khaos Reigns sold poorly, it’s been claimed.

The killer from the Scream series is now playable in Mortal Kombat 1, and players have a bunch of other changes to look forward to, as well.

Mortal Kombat 1 continues its hot streak of adding formidable fighters from other franchises, with Scream's Ghostface being the latest addition. Following the inclusions of Homelander and Peacemaker, Ghostface makes a name for himself in this first look at his bloody fatality.

A known leaker has claimed that initially planned Mortal Kombat 1 DLC is now canceled. This included another Kombat Pack and a second story expansion. They state the reasoning behind this move is due to its previous expansion’s poor sales.

Alongside more story expansions, that cancelled DLC reportedly included a third Kombat Pack, which would have added six more characters to the game. As pointed out by Twitter user

Future DLC for MK1 supposedly would have brought back five Mortal Kombat characters from the past along with one new guest fighter.
