Shea Langeliers became just the second catcher in MLB history to hit three home runs out of the leadoff spot while leading the Athletics to a 16-7 road win over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday.

Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers had a historic night in Washington against the Nationals as he finished with three home runs and a five-hit night.

The Washington Nationals, who had lost five straight coming into the game, had no answer for the offensive onslaught as the Athletics won handily, 16-7. Led by the trio of catcher Shea Langeliers, right fielder Brent Rooker and center fielder JJ Bleday, the Athletics combined for 16 runs, 24 hits and never looked back after a five-run first inning.
