On this Thanksgiving, Christina Dahro is thankful to be alive and surrounded by family, and knowing that her family in the Middle East is safe with the start of a 60-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.

Israeli tank and artillery fire struck several villages, Lebanon’s state media reported, as the Israeli military warned civilians not to return to the area.

They continued walking to the building where they used to live, in Tyre in southern Lebanon. The displaced family was back, hours after a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah had come into effect. Nobody seemed to have stayed in their home.

Israel's military and Lebanon's army are trading accusations that each country violated the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon. It comes less than two days after the deal was first reached and went into effect.
