After days without clean water, thousands of Granada Hills and Porter Ranch residents are a step closer to restored service as crews with the Department of Water and Power have complete repairs to a damaged underground water pipe.

The L.A. Department of Water and Power says crews completed repairs on an underground water pipe and plan to restore service soon for thousands in Granada Hills and Porter Ranch.

Thousands of San Fernando Valley residents were expected to remain without water through the weekend as repair work continues days after their service was first interrupted on Tuesday.
