Authorities in Indian-controlled Kashmir have temporarily shut more than half of tourist resorts in the scenic Himalayan region following a deadly attack on tourists.

Nazir Ahmad Wani's house in Kashmir's Khasipora village was one of the nine homes destroyed so far. Police say his son, Amir Nazir, is a member of the Jaish-e-Mohammed group that India has designated as a terrorist outfit.

Pakistan’s army shot down an Indian spy drone along their disputed border in the Kashmir region, the state-run television channel reported.

"If they stop water, all of this will turn into the Thar desert, the whole country," one farmer said. "We'll die of hunger."

Asif said India's rhetoric was intensifying and Pakistan's military had briefed the government on the possibility of an attack.
