Tropical Storm Fernand is expected to continue on a north-northeasterly path over the central Atlantic Ocean Monday and Tuesday and pose no threat to land, the National Hurricane Center said early Monday.

MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Juliette formed Monday in the Pacific Ocean hundreds of miles from Mexico’s Baja California peninsula as Tropical Storm Fernand churned in the Atlantic Ocean. No coastal watches or warnings were in effect for either storm, the Miami-based US National Hurricane Center said.

Tropical Storm Fernand, which formed Saturday afternoon in the Atlantic, is continuing to move over the open ocean, with no indication it will make landfall.
