The German Air Force said the Russian aircraft was flying without a flight plan and the transponder was off in the latest such incident.

Germany's Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft were scrambled due to a flight of a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane in over the international waters of the Baltic Sea, the German Air Force said on Oct. 16.

The captain of the plane could be heard telling air traffic control that the aircraft had a "suspected bomb" on board.
