Indian GrandMaster D. Gukesh forced a draw with black pieces against China’s Ding Liren in game four of the World Chess Championship in Singapore on Friday.

Reigning chess world champion Ding Liren of China and India’s D Gukesh remain level on two points each after playing out a risk-free draw in 42 moves in Round 4 on Friday.

Singapore: Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh and defending champion Ding Liren played out a mostly risk-free draw in the fourth round to remain level on points in the World Chess Championship battle here on Friday.

The two players signed peace after 42 moves and are tied on 2 points each after four games of the 14-round showdown

All eyes will be on D Gukesh as he will take on defending champion Ding Liren in Game 4 of the World Chess Championship in Singapore on Friday, November 29. Gukesh won Game 3 to level the series.

The World Chess Championship match between D. Gukesh and Ding Liren will consist of 14 games. The first player to score 7.5 points will be crowned the World Champion. If the match ends in a tie after all 14 games, a tiebreak will be held the following day to determine the winner.

G Dukesh and Ding Liren played out a draw after 42 moves in Game 4. Resuming after the rest day, the two players played a tense match which fizzled out to a draw.

The 18-year-old triumphed in the third game of the series on Wednesday, drawing level after his opening-round loss.

With 40 moves to make in the first 120 allotted minutes without any increment, the complicated middle game had the desired impact on Liren and Gukesh was relentless in finding out some difficult yet perfect moves to increase the pressure.
