Microsoft stops rolling out Windows 11 24H2 to PCs with certain Ubisoft games installed and is working with Ubisoft to fix the compatibility issues.

According to a message on the Microsoft support page, users who have installed Windows 11 version 24H2 "might encounter issues with some Ubisoft games". The affected titles are Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and, most notably, Star Wars Outlaws.

Microsoft has stopped offering updates to Windows 11 version 24H2 on PCs that have certain Ubisoft games installed, Bleeping Computer reports. The company made the move after complaints that Star Wars Outlaws and games in the Assassin’s Creed series were crashing after installing the new Windows update.

Windows 11 24H2 has just received an optional update which comes with some useful tweaks to the interface. This is patch KB5046740 and it’s in preview – so as ever, you might come across glitches if you install it – and the main changes on the desktop are applied to the taskbar and Start menu.

Microsoft blocked the Windows 11 24H2 update due to issues with USB-connected peripherals supporting the eSCL protocol. Gamers might face black screens during gameplay in specific Ubisoft titles after updating to Windows 11 24H2.
