The Los Angeles Lakers were missing a ton of production on Sunday night. That meant Bronny James had a chance at more run than usual as the Lakers took on the Sacramento Kings. Before Sunday night, Bronny had played just three minutes this season. He didn't get into the game at all in the first half, though.

JJ Redick has to be frustrated that this problem still exists for the Lakers heading into the new season as seen in their opening night loss.

On Tuesday as they began their season, Luka Dončić greeted the crowd from midcourt pregame. He was easily the Lakers’ best and most important player — 43 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists in nearly 41 minutes to start a year in which plenty of people believe he can win his first Most Valuable Player.

By scoring at least 40 points for a second-straight game, Doncic became the fifth player ever with back-to-back 40-point games to begin an NBA season. As a result, Doncic set the Lakers' franchise record for most points through the first two games in a season.

The Warriors ran away with a 16-4 third-quarter run, eventually beating Luka Dončić (43 points) and the Lakers 119-109 to cap our opening night doubleheader.
