U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he will order the Pentagon and the Department of Homeland Security to prepare a migrant detention facility at Guantanamo Bay for as many as 30,000 migrants.

Trump said the move would double U.S. detention lockup capacities, and Guantanamo is “a tough place to get out of.”

The immigrants living in the U.S. illegally who will be sent to the detention facility are those who have committed crimes, President Trump said.

The president suggested 30,000 migrants could be housed on the base. It is unclear how the plan will take shape.
