Today, the government launched a website asking for ideas on how the NHS might be improved – no doubt a very serious task. After all, PM Keir Starmer and his health secretary Wes Streeting have called for nothing short of a complete reimagining of how the 76-year-old institution can continue to serve the UK.

Pharmacies are demanding an extra £1.3bn a year in support to stop many of them closing down. The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) has warned that pharmacies are in a “financial crisis” and that any plans for the NHS must include urgent action to address this.
