The Washington Capitals community and young skaters across the DMV are mourning the victims of the American Airlines plane crash, including those with ties to local ice rinks.

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin skating community is mourning the victims of the plane crash in Washington, D.C. The Fond du Lac Blades, a figure skating group, told our affiliate WISN that one of their beloved test partners, Aleksandr Kirsanov, was among the victims. The team said he often came to Fond du Lac and worked with figure skaters.

There have not been any known incidents of immigration arrests at local schools, but Cincinnati-area educators are asking school leaders to prepare.

School officials in Seattle and Washington state will continue to require a court order or signed warrant from a judge before they let federal immigration agents onto school campuses, they told Axios this week.
