Some grocers are taking steps to stretch their existing egg supplies, the USDA found. It comes as the bird flu has caused egg prices to soar.

Signs have been erected at Trader Joe's stores across the country, informing customers that they will be limited to a single carton of a dozen eggs per day to "ensure a consistent supply for all customers."
