Sam Mayer scooted past a Jesse Love, who slid in a patch of oil and never looked back on his path to his first NASCAR Xfinity Series win of the season in Saturday's HyVee Perks 250 at Iowa. The win was also the first ever for the Haas Factory Team.

Mayer, 22, of Franklin, Wisconsin, held off Reiley Herbst in overtime in the June 2024 Hy-Vee Perks 250 at the Iowa Speedway. On Saturday Aug. 2, Mayer cruised to his second-straight win in the Xfinity Series race after a late restart.

It was also the first win for team owner Gene Haas since Stewart-Haas Racing shut down and was reorganized into the Haas Factory Team. Mayer has eight career wins now, including back-to-back victories at Iowa Speedway ... with two different race teams.
