Cameroon's Francis Ngannou made a triumphant return to mixed martial arts by knocking out Renan Ferreria in the first round of their heavyweight clash at the Professional Fighters League (PFL) event dubbed "Battle Of The Giants" in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The bout, for the PFL heavyweight title, marks Ngannou’s first fight in the sport since January 2022. On that occasion, the Cameroonian outpointed Ciryl Gane to retain the UFC heavyweight title, a year before leaving the promotion.

Julianna Peña defeated Raquel Pennington via split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47) to reclaim the women’s bantamweight crown in a bout billed as the co-main event. Peña originally held the crown after defeating Amanda Nunes at UFC 269 in 2021 and then lost it to Nunes in a rematch at UFC 277 in 2022.

Renan Ferreira is also super exciting. He made a splash in 2021 when he knocked out a champion named Fabricio Werdum, but that win was changed because Ferreira tapped out early. Since then, he has won four fights in a row against other fighters like Matheus Scheffel and Ryan Bader.
