BERLIN, October 19. /TASS/. The German Foreign Ministry has recalled German Ambassador to Tbilisi Peter Fischer for consultations in connection with the anti-European position of the Georgian side.

Germany said Sunday it has temporarily recalled its ambassador to Georgia, marking a step-up in the spat between the Caucasus country and the European Union.

Germany said on Sunday that it would recall its ambassador to Georgia ahead of a meeting of European Union officials on Monday as relations between the bloc and the South Caucasus country fray.
