Ford has advised its electric vehicle customers to stop using Tesla NACS adapters due to concerns that some units could cause slower charging speeds or damage the charging port. The automaker issued a bulletin warning of a “potential issue” with the adapters,

Ford EV owners should follow the link on Ford’s notice to make sure it has the right address on file. If it is, they won’t need to do anything else to get their replacement, but if not, the company says customers need to update their address by October 24th.

After offering its customers free NACS adapters for Tesla's Superchargers, Ford is telling its customers to stop using them, according to a service bulletin spotted by InsideEVs. The NACS adapter flaw was disclosed to affected EV owners earlier this week. Drivers who receive a notice should stop using their free NACS adapter immediately. Replacement adapters will be shipped the week of October 28th at no cost.
