The second of two rescued tigers being cared for at the Oakland Zoo was euthanized after it was recently diagnosed with cancer, the zoo announced.

Officials say 2-year-old Amur tiger Darya was born on Nov. 13, 2023, and came to the Detroit Zoo from the Saint Louis Zoo.

Darya (pronounced Dar-EE-yuh) is a 2-year-old Amur tiger. She moved into the zoo's tiger habitat on Tuesday, the zoo said on social media. Amur tigers, also known as Siberian tigers, are endangered.
