Democratic socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani taunted critics while announcing a planned trip to Uganda and campaigning to lead New York City.

In a statement, Mamdani explained that he had traveled back to Uganda to celebrate “his marriage to Rama with their family and close friends.”
