According to a report from Tom's Hardware, the OpenCL score puts the Arc desktop GPU on par with something closer to the RTX 2070, a graphics card that came out towards the latter parts of 2018.

The GPU in the GeekBench test scored 85585 points. It was paired with a six-core i5-9600K and 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and was shown as having 512 Compute Units (CUs) and a maximum clock of 2400 MHz.

So really, who knows how much NVIDIA's new mid-range GPU, the RTX 3070 Ti, is actually going to sell for. The company says its retail price is $599, though, so that's what we'll run with for now.

Last-gen budget champion The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 is the predecessor to the RTX 3070. As the budget choice of the last generation, the RTX 2070 is certainly a good GPU.
