The Red Sox and Pirates have been frequent trade partners in the last year. Last July, the Sox sent infielder Nick Yorke to Pittsburgh in exchange for starting pitcher Quinn Priester. More recently, the Sox sent infielder Enmanuel Valdez to the Pirates in December and obtained reliever Joe Vogatsky.
