CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The newest addition to Gorilla World at the Cincinnati Zoo has a name. Gladys gave birth to her baby boy last month. Dad is Mbeli. Gladys, who overcame significant odds after breaking her arm in 2024 and receiving a first-of-its-kind titanium 3D-printed cast from GE Aerospace, has been cradling her newborn.

The Houston Zoo's naming contest for its new baby boat-billed heron closes Wednesday. The four options, which people can vote on at houstonzoo.org, are Keelie, Lorelei, Minnow and Sailor. Born in August, the heron is the daughter of Ezekial and Edith. She is the first boat-billed heron born at the zoo.
