Israel’s army has confirmed that one of the bodies recovered from Gaza earlier this week was that of 23-year-old hostage Hamzah AlZayadni.

Bodies of both Yosef and Hamzah were recovered on January 8. While that of Yosef was identified on January 8, the same of Hamzah’s was identified on January 10.

Israeli forces have recovered the body of a 53-year-old hostage in a Gaza tunnel as ceasefire talks with Hamas continue. The fate of his son, also a hostage, remains unclear.

The discovery of Yosef AlZayadni's body comes as Israel and Hamas are considering a ceasefire deal that would free the remaining hostages and halt the fighting in Gaza. Israel says about a third of the remaining 100 hostages have died, but believes as many as half could be dead.

The bodies of around three dozen hostages have been recovered in Gaza and eight hostages have been rescued by the army.
