Amidst growing concerns over escalating atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, a court in Dhaka has set December 3 for hearing of bail plea of Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was arrested on sedition charges.

Two Iskcon priests were arrested in Bangladesh amidst rising tensions within the Hindu community. Radharamn Das, Iskcon Kolkata vice president, confirmed the arrests and reported that an Iskcon center in Bhairav was also vandalized.

Another Hindu priest and ISKCON member, Shyam Das Prabhu, has been arrested in Chattogram, Bangladesh, just days after the detention of spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das on sedition charges. India has urged Bangladesh to ensure the protection of its minorities and fair judicial processes.

A Chattogram court official said that the date for the hearing had already been set but the announcement was delayed due to a boycott and work abstention by lawyers on Wednesday and Thursday.

Chinmoy Krishna Das, a Hindu priest and minority rights advocate in Bangladesh, was arrested and denied bail on sedition charges. India's ministry of external affairs expressed concern, noting attacks on minorities protesting Das's arrest.

The Bangladesh government has frozen bank accounts of 17 individuals linked to ISKCON amid tensions surrounding the arrest of Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, whose account will also be affected.
