Thousands of protesters are expected to take to the streets of Tbilisi and other Georgian cities again tonight, continuing demonstrations that began on Thursday. In recent days, police have used water cannon, tear gas and rubber bullets to break up the protests. At least 150 people have been detained.

The country was thrown into crisis when Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's Georgian Dream party said it was halting EU accession talks.

Georgia’s interior ministry has said that 107 people were arrested during Friday’s protests in the capital Tbilisi sparked by the government’s decision to delay the former Soviet country’s bid to join the European Union.
