Amazon has announced the release of the Fire TV Stick HD. It's a new budget streaming stick intended for use on 1080p or 720p TVs.

Amazon has announced the Fire TV Stick HD, but you aren't getting many upgrades compared to the previous entry-level model.

With the advent of the Amazon Fire TV Stick HD, the company's low-cost streaming stick lineup goes from four devices to just three.

The Fire TV Stick HD also comes with Alexa-enabled Voice Remote. Users can give voice commands to easily search and launch programs across various apps. Additionally, users can also control compatible smart home devices like soundbars, smart plugs, thermostat, lights, and more with Alexa Assistant.

Unlike the old version that set you back $40, though, the new Fire TV Stick HD has a base price of $35. That's only $5 more than the version that ships with a "lite" remote that has few buttons for control.
