Chelsea and Aston Villa have been fined by Uefa for breaching the European governing body's financial rules. The two clubs could be prevented from registering new players for Uefa competitions for the forthcoming season unless they have a positive transfer balance by the end of the summer transfer window.

UEFA have today announced the resulting actions and fines due to these breaches, and thankfully they’ve once again proven to be quite willing to compromise. (Not just with Chelsea, but also with Aston Villa and Barcelona, among others.) After all, they don’t want to bite the hands that feed, at least not too vigorously.
