Bob Weir, rhythm guitarist, vocalist and co-founder of the band Grateful Dead, has died at the age of 78, according to a family statement shared on his website on Saturday. He “succumbed to underlying lung issues” after being diagnosed with cancer in July, it added. The statement did not say when he died.
