Following a series of investigation gaffes in the City of New Roads, Police Chief Louis Hamilton tendered his resignation Tuesday, the WAFB I-TEAM learned.

A New Roads police officer accused of selling drugs was arrested Thursday.

Sources in the City of New Roads tell the WAFB I-TEAM the city is planning to ask for New Roads Police Department Chief Louis Hamilton’s resignation this week.

NEW ROADS, La. (WAFB) - The man who was wounded by a New Roads police officer Friday night was shot five times and is the son of Iberville Parish Assessor Randy Sexton, the WAFB I-TEAM has learned.
