The Packers said Tuesday a data breach affected a limited number of people who made credit card transactions during the period.

The Packers Pro Shop, the official gift shop of the Green Bay Packers that also has a store at Lambeau Field, suffered a brief data breach recently, according to a statement from Packers officials. A statement sent to Action 2 News on Tuesday says: “Maintaining the privacy and security of our fans’ personal information is of utmost importance to the Green Bay Packers.

The Green Bay Packers Pro Shop website was hit by hackers recently, the team confirmed in a statement sent to NBC 26 on Tuesday.

Some customers who used a debit or credit card on the pro shop website from late September through most of October could be impacted. The Packers say they've sent a notification letter to everyone who may have been affected and those customers have been given the option of three years of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection.
