A new report has emerged, indicating that Deion Sanders has a "strong interest" in the open Raiders head coach position. Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Journal indicated that a person "close" to the situation believes that Sanders has a strong interest in landing the Raiders job.

According to insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Raiders are reportedly “enamored” with the Lions’ Ben Johnson. Rapoport reports that Johnson has quickly emerged as the candidate to watch in the Raiders’ head coaching hunt.

Certainly, many people will say that Ben Johnson should not become the head coach of the Raiders. The reason being — they’re so far away from being a complete roster that it will make it tough for him to win right away. Especially with such a competitive AFC West division. All of that makes sense.

Sanders was commonly linked to the Raiders when they held the No. 1 pick and had an easy path to draft his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders. However, those rumors cooled off when they won two of their last three games and fell to No. 6 in the 2025 NFL Draft order.
