This summer, a fired-up Kevin McCarthy vowed to personally lead the fight against California Democrats’ redistricting push, aiming to raise $100 million to help protect Republican lawmakers in his home state.
Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the former majority leader and Bakersfield Republican, was expected to raise $100 million but has so far raised just under $11 million towards his national opposition campaign, No on 50 - Stop Sacramento’s Power Grab, according to campaign records.

California to deploy its own election monitors of Prop 50 voting sites
California Attorney General Rob Bonta said Monday that the state will send its own observers to monitor federal election monitors from the U.S. Department of Justice during next week’s special election on Proposition 50.
Looks like Republicans have folded their tent in their effort to defeat a Democratic gerrymander of California’s House districts one week before the special election. Good news for Democrats, and Gov. Gavin Newsom, who's been leading the fight for California redistricting. Via Politico:
