FCS Football Recap: Week 7 Takeaways
Wide receiver Samuel Gbatu Jr. had an excellent game, posting a team-high seven catches for 114 receiving yards and two scores. Running back Jordan Fisher continued his breakout season with 104 rushing yards and one touchdown on 14 carries, averaging 7.4 yards per carry.
Joshua Stoneking is the top edge rusher in the FCS this season. Stoneking's 10.5 sacks leads the FCS and his 14.5 tackles for loss ranks second. He’s had at least two tackles for loss and sacks in four of his six games this season, making his presence known in opposing backfields.

UNC football named FCS team of the week
UNC scored 35 first-half points on the way to scoring the most points in a single game since Lamb took over in late 2022.
The offense leads the FCS with 56.6 points per game, and the defense ranks second only allowing 11.80 points per game. The offense is converting 52.8 percent of its third-down attempts (fifth-best in the FCS) while opposing teams are only converting 24.4 percent of third-down attempts (third-best in the FCS).
On Monday, senior wide receiver Jared Richardson was awarded FCS National Offensive Player of the Week and Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week by Stats Perform and the Ivy League, respectively.

Mercyhurst football in search of third straight NEC win, set to host Dukes in night game
In local college football, D-1 FCS Mercyhurst hosts Duquesne this Saturday at Saxon Stadium (6 pm kickoff) in search of a third straight win overall and in NEC play. The Lakers are off to a 3-4 start to the season in their second season at the FCS level.
