Harry Balke hit a 55-yard field goal as time expired to give Drake football a 19-16 walk-off victory at San Diego on Oct. 11 in the Pioneer Football League. A San Diego kickoff went out of bounds, giving Drake the ball at the 35-yard line. Quarterback Chase Spellman led Drake into San Diego territory to set up Balke's heroics.

The Toronto native's defamation lawsuit over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” was dismissed by a federal judge who ruled the lyrics were protected opinion, not factual claims.

“Instead of accepting the loss like the unbothered rap artist he often claims to be, he has sued his own record label in a misguided attempt to salve his wounds. Plaintiff’s complaint is utterly without merit and should be dismissed with prejudice.”
