Twenty-five of MLB's 30 teams have won at least one World Series. Five franchises have yet to hoist the Commissioner's Trophy: the Colorado Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays.

The Seattle Mariners are the only team to have never played in the World Series. Established in 1977, the Mariners have just six playoff appearances and two ALCS appearances, once in 1995 and another in 2001. Seattle became the final team to never make a World Series in 2007, when the Rockies made their first appearance.

More than half the 2025 playoff field has gone at least 25 years without a championship, but only one can reset that counter this October.
