FIDE has launched an investigation into Vladimir Kramnik after outrage from Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura over the late Daniel Naroditsky's treatment and accusations of cheating in online chess.

Daniel Naroditsky’s mother has revealed that Vladimir Kramnik’s unfounded cheating allegations took a mental toll on the American Grandmaster, who died at 29 on Sunday.

Kramnik denied Indian GM Nihal Sarin’s insinuations that the Russian’s repeated accusations against the American player of cheating while playing online had played a part in his death.
