The Kremlin has declared a 72-hour ceasefire in Ukraine next week as Russia marks Victory Day in World War II.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a three-day ceasefire to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany, even as President Donald Trump has expressed growing impatience with the stalled efforts to reach a peace agreement.

The Kremlin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the full cessation of hostilities on “humanitarian grounds” for the Victory Day on May 9.
