Three people were killed and three others were wounded during a shooting at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, officials said Monday, noting that prompt intervention prevented worse carnage.

A gunman who opened fire just outside a casino in Reno, Nevada, shot multiple people Monday morning before being taken into custody, police said.

The gunman initially opened fire, but their gun jammed, the official said.
