Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a telephonic conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah following the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and directed him to take all necessary measures in response to the incident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting at his residence on Wednesday in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists. Union Home Minister Amit Shah briefed the PM and discussed the measures to be taken in its aftermath.

Following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit the affected region today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon receiving initial reports of the incident, instructed Amit Shah to travel to Jammu and Kashmir to oversee the situation firsthand.
