Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg and other company board members settled a U.S. shareholder lawsuit on Thursday concerning decisions made in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica privacy scandal.
The class action lawsuit against Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other leaders concerns privacy breaches related to Cambridge Analytica. Investors claim Meta failed to disclose risks as Facebook violated an FTC consent order.
But research in this area is still in its early stages. A study published this spring showed that Llama can reproduce much more of its training text than was previously thought, including near-exact copies of books such as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and 1984.
A German court has fined Meta €5,000 ($5,900) for violating European privacy laws by embedding tracking technology in third-party websites.
