The latest rumour du jour came courtesy of the New York Post’s Jon Heyman, who said the Jays are the “most likely fit” for three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer. Heyman went as far to suggest that Scherzer could arrive as part of a package deal with former teammate Pete Alonso.

There hasn’t been much public buzz about Max Scherzer this winter, apart from a report earlier this month that four unknown clubs were showing interest in the future Hall-of-Famer’s services. The Blue Jays may or may not have been one of those four mystery teams,
