The announcement about the dairy industry comes just a week after the Consumer Brands Association announced its commitment to encourage food and beverage manufacturers to remove artificial food

Dozens of U.S. ice cream manufacturers are pledging to eliminate the use of artificial food colors from their ice cream products made with real milk by the end of 2027.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted use the color gardenia (genipin) blue in various foods. Additionally, ice cream could also be shedding artificial food dyes in years to come.
